biodynamic oranges
Just went for a ride with the little one to some growers markets to get a box of biodynamic oranges for 10 bucks (bargain i reckon). We got given this dutch kiddie trailer from a lovely couple who do not use it and just wanted to know it was going to be appreciated. This one is designed for two children so there is heaps of storage room for the groceries.
Riding through centennial park i noticed lots of car drivers looking quizzically at this trailer as though they had never seen one before. I have not seen many in use in sydney, understandably, with the traffic but they are great.
I put a freewheel on my fixed commuter bike so as not to be totally irresponsible, but the 43 x 16 was hurting my on the hills with a full load, actually it was hurting regardless of the load, either i will need to get a geared bike or put a much easier gear on. The two-wheeled trailer was super stable, cornering very smoothly and Sol seemed to enjoy it when his helmet was not covering his face.
Cooks river cycle way is the next planned adventure, a trip to dulwich hill for some spinach triangles at The Valley bakery on marrickville road, you got to get there before 1pm cause they'll only have spinach and cheese triangles after 1.

The Valley stop baking spinach triangles after 1pm, with or without stolen and frommagified calf-milk.

I seriously fscked up my knees grinding up hills towing the kids while touring. All it took was just a ‘push’ on the last 10 metres to the top – so I jumped up and pushed down. Just about had to ride one-leg for the next two weeks.
Kid trailers (esp. with gear too) are very heavy, be careful putting on the power on hills. spin spin spin!
