Caught the train to Hornsby and read the latest Bicycling magazine. There was a great article about two people who swapped touring gear for a 3 day trip. One minimalist was given a BOB trailer full of luxury items like a coffee plunger, full foam mattress, GPS, etc etc. The other former luxury tourer was given a bivy bag and some lightweight clothing and that's about it. Then they went off together and tried how the other half rode. Pretty funny
Anyway, my traintrip avoided all the crap traffic to Hornsby and I had a beautiful cruisy ride down to Berowra waters, over the ferry, up to Arcadia and then up thru Galson Gorge back to Hornsby. 2 hours .No cars, sun, lots of gears and some time to think was just what I needed. Even saw Ash on the train on the way back.
