I didn’t take any pictures of our mate michael’s crosscheck and on his first ride he got taken out by a car so i had to take the opportunity before he moves to canberra
It is quite a unique little ride. phil wood screw on rear hub with ird 7 speed freewheel onto an offset velocity aerohead for balanced spoke tension on a multispeed wheel.
it doesn’t end there, up front we got a schmidt dynamo hub with front and rear led lights, some lovely cane creek bar ends and in the middle a neat dmr chainguide on the single chainring.
awesome commuter bike for a dude who hadn’t ridden for a while, enjoy the rest of the pictures if you are interested.

Comment on this post | 2 CommentsThe Cheeky Transport / Bikes For Transport Yeah! Christmas Party Picnic is gonna finish of the weekend in fine style. We had such an awesome time last year we’re doing all over again, just the same.
First up on Sunday is the Back In The Day Ally Kat - History of Sydney fun ride, 2 person teams, $5 entry, Starts at 12 on the dot at the shop. Registration from 11.30am. Finishes at our Christmas Party.. This will be a pretty cruisy ride. Perfect intro to alleycats/scavenger hunts. All welcome.
If you don’t want to race, we’ll also be meeting at the shop from around 11 for a leisurely , kid/beginner friendly , mostly nice bike paths and waterfront, ride down to Pyrmont Park, leaving at 12. We will be stopping at the fish markets/fruit and veg and there is a bottleshop right near our destination. Arriving ar Pyrmont around 1pm
There will be some food and drink. There are barbies if you want to cook up some meat
Latest news is, there will be roller racing at the park too. And I’m hoping someone will bring bikes and a ramp that we can jump into the harbour!!
If it’s raining, we’ll have it at the shop!!
Oh, and I have a few tickets left for saturday’s films. First in to the shop gets em.

These two individuals are very different from each other, the common thread being the need for transportation and the wish for positive development in their community. “Ayamye” is a moving, life-affirming film that proves sustainable solutions to crisis are not always complex.

The history of the modern mountain bike. This film documents the rise of a huge cultural movement that was pioneered in Marin County on the trails of Mt. Tamaipais. Mountain Biking was born out of the creative scene surrounding the San Francisco Bay Area hippy and rock world of the sixties and seventies. This film features the characters of this day such as Gary Fisher, Joe Breeze, Charlie Kelly and Alan Bonds. The races began amongst friends getting stoned and partying and flying down the mountain on their pre forties bikes with fat tires: “Klunkerz.” These fun escapades turned into a sport that changed and maybe even saved the bike industry. Now all over the world you see people riding mountain bikes.

Apart from the Excellent fixie ride from Bowral to Tempe this Sunday (see blog post below) one of Syney’s most famous cycling events, the Gong Ride is being ridden. Sydney thru the Royal National Park down the beaches to Wollongong. HIghly reccomended. We have entry forms in the shop.
Remember, it is a fundraiser for the MS Society so please register, and if you can’t be arsed riding, you can still donate by sponsoring a rider like Lela
