Crosscheck build

August 28th, 2007 Posted in Surly

So we built up a lovely surly crosscheck for a customer and he asked us to document the build process. I had been meaning to do this for quite a while just so people know that they are getting a quality build when they get us to build the bike up.

It’s not meant to be blowing our own trumpet it’s just to give you an idea if you were getting a bike built by us. Below is how the frame starts out of the box. See here for the detailed build.

As the customer of this build I’ve got to say the service, the advice and the build from Dave was tremendous.

Just picked up the bike and when I got it home I just had to tackle the worst hill near my home just to try it out and I love the gearing, the fit and the handling of this ‘cycle.

Interesting… didn’t know there was so much preparation required for the frame. Whatever you did with my surly 1X1, it looks like it has paid off… 4000kms and counting and no qualms whatsoever. Thanks again guys for the quality build.

    1. Very nice bike.

    2. Very interesting photo-set. When I grovelled all over the Swift Folder you built for me, I could see where some of this stuff had been done on my frame.
