Davey’s Thoughts On Lube..

Posted in in General Stuff on October 23rd, 2007 by nicholasb | 1 Comment

Australian Cyclist got some thoughts from Dave about the best choices for bicycle lubricants. Our choice for an all purpose chain lube is Prolink, and general purpose Lanotec in a spray can is invaluable for freeing gunked up shifters and derailleurs (plus it smells like the Easter Show)..

zefal strapless toeclips are made so you can still pull up but do not have to worry about tightening and loosening a strap which can cause some problems.

so good we have a friend who put them on all four bikes and i think has a spare set.

thanks to tony for this delightful example. more pics here

Sign the Massbug MTB/BMX/Skate Petition..

Posted in in Advocacy, Cyclocross on October 11th, 2007 by nicholasb | No Comments

are running a petition to urge the City of Syndey Council to develop a “BMX/MTB track and BMX/Skate facility” at Sydney Park, down the bottom of King St. Sounds like it would be killer for some cyclocross racing as well. Add your signature next time you’re in the shop, and check out Hell On Wheels for all your BMX needs..

New 8spd Hub City Bike – Merida i8

Posted in in Commuting, New products on October 9th, 2007 by nicholasb | 4 Comments

It’s no secret that we’re big fans of internally geared bikes – they’re clean, easy to use, low maintenance and look cool. Come in and check out the Merida i8. It’s a flat bar road bike that would make a great fast commuter, with the Shimano Nexus 8 hub and front and rear roller brakes all for $1100..
