Rings on King..
February 16th, 2009 Posted in Stolen

There’s a whole bunch of new bike parking rings installed up and down King St. They appeared last week. Good work City of Sydney. Hopefully we’ll hear less of “They stole it by lifting it up and over the sign-post” now.
In other news, you might be familiar with Twitter.. A sort of blog text-message type thing. It’s another way to keep up with the goings-on on this blog, but we’ve been posting little bits and pieces over there as well – stuff that’s interesting but doesn’t qualify for a full blog post - have a look.
but obviouly will still hear “they stole it because i used a $1.50 lock that i bought at the quix in erskinevile”
Not a very secure chain though.
i can’t believe that bike still has gears! where are the fixie police when you need them? that bike is begging for deep-v’s and a suicide lever, maybe a kryptonite mini would be a good idea, that chain wouldnt look out of place hanging off a dunny!
Just a bit of self promotion – BikeSydney and BikEast have been hired by CoS to help with the initial roll out of the bike rings
I love the rings coz they stabilize a bike while parked! Too often you see a bike slumped to the ground around a pole. Watch out though, these rings are secured with a “security fitting” that is really easy to buy the bit for. An organised bike thief could undo ring and throw bike and ring in a van to remove lock later.
