Surly Recall

Posted in in Uncategorized on September 2nd, 2010 by nicholasb | No Comments

We got this email from the Australian Surly wholesaler. It applies to complete Surly-specced Truckers and Crosschecks, equipped with cantilever brakes, not vbrakes

Dirt Works Australia would like to advise you of a voluntary recall we have initiated involving the Surly Crosscheck and Long Haul Trucker bicycles.

Some bicycles may have been supplied without the straddle cable catch hook.

We have the hook kits in stock and will be shipping them to you over the next week.

Please advise your customers to cease riding these bicycles and return them to you for the catch hooks to be fitted.

We apologise for this and hope that we can get everyone back on their bikes as soon as possible..

Join Tessa Zettel & Karl Khoe and special guests for a picnic-discussion as part of their work Gwago patabágun _ _ _ We will eat presently (2010). Zettel & Khoe’s site-specific work in front of the MCA consists of a mobile food cart with beehive which will be occasionally open to the public, serving hot pikelets with honey (produced in the cart by native stingless bees). Bring your own plates and cutlery, meet our local bees and take part in a lively dialogue around the precarious past lives and futures of Sydney Cove.

PS Dave from BoBo bikes built the beehive trailer

Fringe Festival Projector Bike

Posted in in Uncategorized on August 30th, 2010 by schmadzie | 1 Comment

We’re sponsoring Projector Bike as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival -

Projector Bike invites you to come with us on a tour through the back lanes and byways of the inner west.

By night we will take to the streets with a mobile projection rig and sound system that will illuminate the walls and the tell tales of life in the city.

We will be taking two tours each night of the inner west and projecting video works from local artists on the buildings and back streets of Newtown.

So grab your fixie, mountain bike, street machine, pub racer or BMX as we go searching for the secrets that this city has to offer.

The ride will take approx 60 mins and stop at five different locations.
