This year we are highjacking /attending the awesome Cargobike picnic being organised by Bike Sydney and the Watershed.  From the BikeSydney website there is heaps of cool stuff happening.

Lee came to us with a nice old 27″ roadster with some great, comfortable bars and shifters, but a flogged out drive-train and a bent down-tube. The brief was to recapture the spirit of the old bike, and give Lee a solid, comfy commuter that was also a  ’Dad-bike’ for daycare drop-offs and playgroup runs.

The 2011 Fuji Touring worked out great. We transferred the whole bar, stem and controls, including the gorgeous old Dia Compe Brake-levers and classic Suntour Power-Ratchet shifters straight across from the old bike, and added a Brooks Flyer, some VO Aluminium guards and Bobike Mini and built one of my most favourite of our recent new bikes.

On Saturday 24th September from 9am, we’ll be cycling to 3 of Sydney’s foodie hotspots; and farmer’s markets along the way.

An East Side ride from King’s Cross markets to Taylor Square markets.

The West Side ride has been cancelled due to low number but we’ll now be including Eveleigh markets as a stop on the one ride!

At the end we’ll meet up in Prince Alfred Park for a huge picnic party to enjoy music and the food we’ve collected along the way.
