Advocacy Lessons from Melbourne, Adelaide and New York

BIKESydney’s first Brains Trust event kicks off in March. One of our aims this year is to work more closely with other advocacy organisations and individuals. The BriansTrust events, which will happen every couple of months, will be one of the ways we do this. Each event will be an opportunity to hear and share information and ideas. In March we’ll hear from three BIKESydney advocates who have recently returned from bicycle related conferences and study trips. We hope to see you there.

Gallery Tours during Art Month

Art Month Sydney is a new month-long festival that celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of Sydney’s thriving visual arts scene.

The inaugural Art Month Sydney runs from 1–31 March 2010, uniting the various elements of the city’s art world under one umbrella for the first time. A diverse cross-section of art will be showcased with more than 70 of Sydney’s leading commercial galleries, artist-run initiatives, public art museums and auction houses hosting exhibitions, talks, behind-the-scenes tours and special events across the city. People of all ages and art inclinations are invited to engage with the work of artists as part of the first Art Month Sydney.

Well, good bad news and good news. Lee, our all round top bloke has left us. Lee and his lovely fam have moved to greener pastures in melbourne, and he’s got a job at our sister shop St Kilda Cycles. Keep an eye out for his updates on Total Rebuild – see right…Fare thee well Lee. Thanks for your hard work and interesting observations.

But the good news is Nick has had a baby!! Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Mala is doing well and little Nina Natalia is perfect.

So, I’ve just been catching up on Marcin and Rose’s trip from Japan to Poland. Bloody hell it’s good. With Marcins’ beautiful eye and Roses sharp wit, it it a very entertaining and inspring trip report. Check it out and put it on your feedreader.

Schwalbe delivery

We recently got our Schwalbe tyre delivery and we tried to bury our six foot six Michael underneath. We just pulled up short, he is only crouching a little to support the tower.

Lots of cool tyres coming out this year from Schwalbe. Touring tyres in both 700 and 26inch and some very nice rolling road tyres as well. I’ve been trying out some Ultremo DDs
