Dirt Works Australia would like to advise you of a voluntary recall we have initiated involving the Surly Crosscheck and Long Haul Trucker bicycles.

Some bicycles may have been supplied without the straddle cable catch hook.

We have the hook kits in stock and will be shipping them to you over the next week.

Please advise your customers to cease riding these bicycles and return them to you for the catch hooks to be fitted.

We apologise for this and hope that we can get everyone back on their bikes as soon as possible..

By night we will take to the streets with a mobile projection rig and sound system that will illuminate the walls and the tell tales of life in the city.

We will be taking two tours each night of the inner west and projecting video works from local artists on the buildings and back streets of Newtown.

So grab your fixie, mountain bike, street machine, pub racer or BMX as we go searching for the secrets that this city has to offer.

Courses run 6.30-8pm for $50. Full payment required up-front for a booking.

Our courses are small, hands-on, so you can really learn how to do things (and remember them). We focus the course on the needs and bikes of the attendees.

Aaron and Jacqui are hitting the road today, starting their trans-continental global touring odyssey. If you read our site regularly, you’d be familiar with their beautiful photos, beautiful bikes and previous adventures so they go with best wishes from the whole Cheeky family.

We plan to ride our bikes from the west Pacific Ocean to the east Atlantic Ocean. We’ll start on the shores of Jervis Bay, Australia and with a few assisted sea crossings, cycle to the west coast of Ireland via Asia and Europe. Our specific destination is open and the time frame is flexible.

This is a bit of a flash mob event aimed at targeting a proposed anti-cycleway rally on at the same time. i.e. as reported today:  “Angry business owners are demanding the council rip up the cycleway and residents have called for a rally at Sydney Town Hall at 6pm on Tuesday to protest against the council’s decision.”

Support the Sydney Cycleway Network Rally

Head to town hall 6pm Tuesday to show our support for future plans to introduce a people friendly cycleway network. It also coincides with an Alan jones inspired protest that is planned for the same time.
