Models
Casseroll Triple: $2700: The Casseroll is a CroMo steel road bike frame with clearance for 32mm tyres with mudguards and rack mounts. The ‘Triple’ configuration is equipped with a Shimano 105 10spd drive train with a triple chainring. Fat tyres and a steel frame make for comfort on all types of road surface. Have a look at the Salsa site for specs and geometry.
The best way to understand the Casseroll is to see it is as a ‘Road Bike’, as distinct from a ‘Road-Racing Bike’. It’s a beautiful commuter to ride every day, or a randonneur or road training bike in the classic tradition. If you’d like a test-ride, talk to Nick. He’s got one and he loves it.
Casseroll Single: $1600: As above, but configured with one gear, thanks to the Casseroll’s stainless steel, forward-entry horizontal dropouts. An elegant versatile fixed wheel bike, with a lot more options, and a much longer life-span than any vintage track frame.
La Cruz: $3180: The La Cruz is designed and built for cyclocross racing – it’s an off-road road bike. A “ticket to the mixed bag world of dirt and pavement”. It’s a bike that lets you ride across potholes instead of around them, huck off gutters, and integrate some sweet Centennial Park singletrack into your commute.
