We’re very happy that Pletscher dual leg kickstands are now being imported into Australia. We’ve resorted to ordering them from the US in the past, since they make such an excellent addition to any bicycle, not to mention loaded touring bikes.
Dual-leg kickstands offer much greater stability than single leg stands, and the Pletschers are more easily compatible with more bikes than any of the other dual stands we’ve stocked in the past, since the two legs fold up under the non-drive chainstay when not in use.
The stands are now being supplied with a pair of molded plastic brackets that insure snug installation. There are a few other installation tips and tricks. We recommend trimming the legs to reduce the height of the wheel off the ground when the bike is parked and making sure you protect the bottom of the chainstays from the clamp (handlebar tape works great).
